These works each consist of a single solid color with an all-white (revealing the paper) square, rectangle, circle, ellipse, triangle or equilateral triangle near its center. The paper dimensions will vary from 2 by 2 inches to 15 X 22.5 inches. The colors vary, three of the six shapes vary, and the position of the shape with respect to the center varies slightly. Each is an edition of one. As with my other editions of one, my idea here is that many possible designs are possible, and all are equally "true." I've made only ten in each of the six groups so far. By making many more (though with a limit on the total, not yet decided but no more than 200 of each group), as planned, I hope to articulate the subtle differences and more general equivalences within the nearly infinite set of possibilities for arranging these shapes within the limits I've set up. And as with my other projects, displaying several or more is much better than showing only one. They can be shown in any order, and in any one of four possible orientations, which I have also done in displaying the first three of each group. Some of these are quite small (dimensions are below the image), and for those the Web images could be larger than the actual work on most screens. Fred Camper
